Application of Radioactive Substances Legislation to MoD

In Scotland the disposal of radioactive wastes was subject to the provisions of the Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (RSA93) until 1 September 2018. RSA93 was largely replaced from this date by Environmental Authorisations (Scotland) Regulations 2018 (EASR). Section 42 of RSA93 provided an exemption for MoD and this exemption is replicated in Regulation 78 of EASR. However, MoD policy states that: READ MORE: https://consultation.sepa.org.uk/radioactive-substances-unit/hmnb-clyde-application-consultation/consultation/intro/?fbclid=IwAR18WFMb3BHdOyog_usZ3wyusY35gdbeLF-uYLJ5gC3SpgBWMUmWTHcOq3g

Question Time Ranter IDENTIFIED

After all the controversy sparked by an audience member on the most recent edition of BBC Question Time, where a number of totally untrue claims were made about migration, population, the education system, languages used in the NHS, and whether the country was “sinking” under people “flooding in” from elsewhere, we have the serious claim that someone connected with the programme has let through one of the far right.

BBC “News and Current Affairs” programmes are riddled with far right Tory management, editors, front men and women and propaganda. Lying and distortion has now gone beyond ludicrous – it’s positively sinister. READ MORE: https://zelo-street.blogspot.com/2020/02/question-time-ranter-identified.html

John Bercow talks a great deal more sense than Pete Wishart. But this will come as little surprise to regular readers of the latter’s ghastly blog, with its ill-thought statements and industriously censored comments. In the latest edition of his mindless musings and extemporaneous mutterings from Perthshire Pete Wishart didn’t only argue for conceding the British Prime Minister’s authority to veto Scotland’s right of self-determination. He also referred to the UK as the “parent state”. Effectively arguing that Scotland is somehow derived from and necessarily subsidiary to the UK. Such revisionist history might be expected from the likes of Neil Oliver. It is not a million miles away from the drivel peddled by Rory Stewart as his contribution to Better Together’s denigration of Scotland. But coming from the SNP’s longest-serving MP it is nothing less than shocking.

While disingenuously claiming that an ‘advisory referendum’ is “being presented as a…

Head of BBC Scotland Branch Donalda McKinnon to restore trust in the BBC in Scotland treating Scots like Mugs again…

loyalty
Yesterday we learned about the failure of Donalda McKinnon to restore trust in the BBC in Scotland, and the very same day there was even more evidence why this was the case and proof of BBC Scotland’s failure.

The new leader of the Scottish branch office of the English Nationalist Brexit Xenophobe Party, Vacant Carlot, refused to answer questions about his bosses’ new immigration policy. Not a single representative from the political organisation which is devoted to ensuring that Scotland must obey dictats which originate from Boris Johnson was willing to defend or explain the UK Conservative government’s changes to immigration policy. This is not unrelated to the fact that the new immigration policy has been roundly condemned by figures across Scottish business. That’s precisely what makes it newsworthy. Even the staunchly Brexit supporting CEO of the Scottish Seafood Association, the former Conservative candidate Jimmy Buchan, has warned that the…

This week we learned two things which are a result of Brexit. Well, I say “learned”. Both of them were entirely predictable. The first is that the British government has decided to adopt draconian immigration laws which will effectively prevent low skilled workers or people who don’t possess fluency in English from coming to the UK, and so putting at risk many economic sectors which have relied upon labour from EU countries. The second is that the EU isn’t going to do the UK any favours as it negotiates a final trade deal with Brexit Britain. Greece has signalled that it could veto any trade deal with the UK unless illegally acquired cultural artifacts are returned to Greece meaning that it could refuse to consent to any deal unless the Elgin Marbles are returned to Athens. Spain has stated that it could veto a deal unless the question of Spanish…

Fracking Threat to Scotland is Raising its Ugly Head Again…

The Grangemouth petrochemical giant, Ineos, is attempting to resurrect plans to drill for underground gas in central Scotland, provoking alarm from communities and environmentalists.

Correspondence posted on the Scottish Government planning website discloses that the multinational company is urging officials to recommend in favour of a long-delayed application to extract coal bed methane at Airth, near Falkirk.

This has been condemned as “outrageous” by campaigners, who warn that the threat of “dirty development” is still hanging over local people. They are calling on Ineos to “admit defeat and walk away” – and for the government to stand firm.

Donalda McKinnon, the heidbummer of BBC Scotland, has announced that she’s retiring from the job after just over three years in post. When she took the job in December 2016 she announced that her task was to restore trust in the BBC amongst the Scottish public. So that worked out well, didn’t it.

It was the behaviour of the Corporation during the independence referendum which more than anything destroyed the BBC’s once prized reputation for fairness and impartiality in Scotland. But the rot had set in even before there was any prospect of an independence vote. Back in the 80s and 90s and the early years of this century, the news management at Pacific Quay had an incestously close relationship with the Labour party. Senior members of BBC staff infamously attended the regular lunch meetings held monthly in Glasgow by the disgraced Stephen Purcell, who was at the time the…

“Let’s Not Forget” about clearing people from their land by force…

“Using ‘cleansing’ is condemned as out of context, erroneously contemporaneous, too emotional because it was often Scot against Scot that did the dirty work.

Well, I have news for slimy proselytisers. It was Jewish guards given temporary preferment who hustled Jews to the gas chambers, less their belongings and clothes. They had no choice. It was do or die. Who would dare not call that barbarity a cleansing?” Read more: https://grousebeater.wordpress.com/2018/04/21/the-sorrow-and-the-shame/
